About Todd Baucom
I am a partner and broker in charge of the Cullowhee, NC office for Western Carolina Properties. I specialize primarily in all types of land sales. My start in real estate was in residential single family development, with several subdivisions in Union County, NC. When I decided to get into real estate brokerage, it was only natural to concentrate in land sales and brokerage.
I am a graduate of Western Carolina University, class of 94, with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. I moved to Cullowhee in 1990, to attend WCU, after serving three years in the 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg, NC.
I have served as President of the Northern Jackson County Board of Realtors, 2003 and as the Chairperson of the Grievance and Professional Standards Committee from 2004-2007.
I am married to the former Stephanie Dills of Dillsboro, NC. We have two sons, Brett and Chris ages 18 and 17. Stephanie is a homemaker and works part time for a local payroll company. Brett is a college freshman at Western Carolina University and Chris is a senior at Cherokee High. The boys have been avid baseball players and I have been fortunate to serve as a coach on a number of their summer tournament and fall league teams. When an opportunity presents itself to coach younger boys in baseball I jump on the chance. I helped coach the Little League 12 year old District champions this summer and went with them to the state tournament for a 6th place finish. In addition to coaching youth baseball, I officiate high school football. I have had the honor of officiating two state quarterfinal games, one state semifinal and one state championship. In addition, I was a crew member for the NC East-West All Star game, July 2009. I suppose that some of my best memories in life are from my times as a player in baseball and football. I feel that many men took the opportunity to coach me or officiate games that I played in, so I should give back to the youth of today and support them in their endeavors.
Stephanie and I have taken advantage of several opportunities to take some short trips together as the boys have gotten older. We enjoy to travel and look forward to more trips and different places in the near future. While we enjoy visiting new places it is always good to return home to the Carolina mountains.
